Analytics is a process for discovering and communicating sets of data to guide business decisions and test specific theories. it’s the act of observing the data of one’s work, analyzing the trends, and developing a strategy to respond to these trends in line with your business goals.

Popular analytics tools used in testing and analyzing any business include Google Analytics, Google Webmaster Tools, and Facebook Insights.

Your analysis can range from measuring the customer behavior to monitoring the number of your website visitors.


An algorithm is a set of rules to be followed representing the relationship between certain calculations or other problem-solving operations.

Social media marketers are likely familiar with it, as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social platforms all use algorithms to determine what posts you see in the news feed.

On the other hand, SEO marketers focus on search engine algorithms to get their content ranking on the first page of search results.

For example; Amazon uses an algorithm to suggest new products based on your past behavior.


A “blog” is where your business content is published. The term “blog” is a shortened version of weblog.  Blogging got developed In the 2000s, as it matured from a diary-like form into a more dominated way to be published online.

Most businesses has been generating more traffic and attracting more prospects after starting their blog.

Buyer Persona

Your buyer persona tells you why certain people would make the decision to buy from your business whatever was the product, service or solutions that you market.

This persona should include information about their demographic and biographic Behaviour, personal goals, common objections, pain points, along with a day in their life.

By thinking about what a day in your persona life looks like, you can better understand their challenges and motives.


Click through rate -CTR

Click Through rate is the number of users who click on a link or an ad divided by the number of times your page or ad is viewed. In a more simplified terms CTR = clicks ÷ impressions

CTR is a commonly used metric to measure your online advertising campaign success for a certain website and also the effectiveness of email campaigns.


Content Marketing

Content marketing is a type of strategic marketing approaches that involves the creation, sharing and developing of online material that is intended to stimulate interest in its products or services.

The type of Content your business could include videos, blogs, and social media posts.

Content marketing can be centered around educating people so that they know, like, and trust your brand enough to do business with you.

Conversion rate - CR

The CR is the percentage of users who take a certain desired action. This desired action can take many patterns, varying from one business to another.

Examples include sales of products, Blog subscriptions, trials downloads, or just about any activity beyond simple page browsing.

Customer Relationship Management - CRM

This term refers to a set of practices, strategies, and technologies that are used to organize, manage and analyze customer interactions and data throughout the customer lifecycle.

The goal of using this technology is improving business relationships with customers, assisting in customer retention and driving sales growth.  

A CRM manages past, current and future customers.


Infographics are the art of transforming complex information into an eye-catching, shareable and easily digestible one.

This type of content plays an important role in the increasingly visual world of digital marketing.

Key Performance Indicator - KPI

This metric is a type of performance measurement chosen by an organization to demonstrate how a company is achieving key business objectives.

KPIs will differ from business to business

and can also differ from department to department.


A lead is a person or company who's shown their interest in a product, service or a solution that you market.

There are different ways to identify your lead, they may be filled out a form, shared their contact information in exchange for a discount or subscribed to your business blog.

Generating leads is a crucial part of a buyer’s journey into becoming a customer.

Marketing Automation

Marketing automation refers to the use of a certain software to automate marketing processes and measure marketing workflows.

The use of marketing automation technology makes tasks that would otherwise have been performed manually much more efficient and makes some extra processes possible.

Marketing automation is an integral component of customer relationship management (CRM).

Here’s an example of how it works.

Imagine someone downloads one of your e-books. You marketing automation software will capture the contact information from the form, segment the lead upon the information it collected, and then send out a series of emails for that prospect over a prescribed time.

Return on investment “ROI”

Return on investment or ROI is one of the profitability ratios which calculates the profits of a certain investment as a percentage of the original cost.

For example, if your net profit is $100,000 and your total assets are $300,000, your ROI would be .33 or 33 percent.


This term stands for search engine optimization. The process of getting traffic from free search results generated by different search engines.

The biggest search engines on the internet are Google and Bing. Certain algorithms are used to examine the content on a page to decide what the page is about and relevant is this page to certain keywords based on 200 factors.

The main goal of a search engine is to find the most relevant content that matches your question or query.

For example, if you’re searching for: what is Search Engine optimization? Your query contains keywords and the more your content matches your query, the better the experience for the user.

Always make people happy, so Google will be happy.

Software as a service - Saas

Saas is a software model in which a third-party provider hosts a number of applications and makes them available to customers online.

SaaS is one of three main categories of cloud computing, along with the side of infrastructure as a service (IaaS) and platform as a service (PaaS).
